    our story

Kiwiana Kai began on the West Coast of New Zealand, where Glenn and Rachel first met - during the whitebait season.

Their mutual love for the outdoors, and childhoods spent camping and fishing, inspired them to move & live 'off-grid.'

They fell in love quickly with the simplicity and pace of such a relaxed lifestyle where cellphone reception isn't welcome or wanted and where your nearest neighbour is miles away.

It gave them a renewed appreciation for nature and for the important things in life.

Along the way, they met a cool dog called 'Razz' who wanted to be part of their journey too.

Razz connected instantly with his new owners and their lifestyle.

He is a big part of Kiwiana Kai.

Kiwiana Kai came to fruition because Glenn and Rachel wanted to share their gratitude for being able to live in such an abundant and beautiful country.

They know not everybody gets to have a Taste of New Zealand.

Getting ready for the Wildfoods Festival
Slowly, but surely, Kiwiana Kai began to take shape.

Glenn and Rachel always had a vision for what they wanted -
to keep things simple and authentic.

They hope to capture the essence of being Kiwi with foods like whitebait, 'fush and chups', & prime NZ beef burgers.

To keep their menu accessible,  their prices won't hurt the pocket.

After all, they want their customers to have a Taste of New Zealand.

Kiwiana Kai has moved to a permanent location - though they are still mobile if needed.

Glenn and Rachel (and Razz!) look forward to meeting new customers and sharing stories together.
